Deep Forest

Deep Forest Biography

Until 2005, Deep Forest was Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez - two visionary musicians, both based in the north of France. Deep Forest, who have sold over 2 million albums in the US, are known worldwide as the trailblazers of the hybrid sound known as "Global Pop". The group's groundbreaking self-titled debut, which featured the hit "Sweet Lullaby", revolutionized music by combining authentic multi-ethnic sounds with captivating ambient dance grooves. In 2005 Michel Sanchez left the band to start his solo career.

Combining World, New Age/Ambient, Electronic/Dance and Pop influences, Deep Forest took the world by storm as "Sweet Lullaby" became a major radio & MTV hit, a danceclub anthem, as well as a bestseller in non-music stores like The Nature Company. No group had ever collected such a diverse array of consumers into a passionately dedicated fan base.

Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet stopped working together after their 2004 soundtrack for the Japanese film Kusa No Ran. In 2008 Eric released his own 'Deep' album under the name Deep Projects. Eric followed up with two more solo world fusion albums in 2013, Deep India and Deep Africa, which were released as 'Deep Forest Eric Mouquet'.
