Freddy Lopez Biography

A native of Santurce, Puerto Rico, Freddy Lopez began his career as one of the stars of"The Village Kids" lead by the famous Merengue Superstar, Jailene Cintrón. Moving to New York, shortly thereafter, Freddy participated in the groups Young Sound Device and New Image by doing choreography and dancing, while training his voice at the House of Music. Freddy started to perform as as a solo artist and became heavily involved with Freestyle Dance Music.

In 1995 he debuted his own TV show "El Show de Freddy Lopez" where he demonstrated his ability to be a Master of Ceremonies as well as a producer. "El Show De Freddy Lopez" is currently broadcasted by 7 American/Hispanic TV stations. Since 1998 Freddy has been producing his other program, "The Freestyle Music Show". Freddy's first solo album entitled "Tu Jugaste Con Mi Amor" was an instant hit amongst latin freestyle fans and four of the songs went into regular playlists at radio stations, I keep on trying, Tu jugaste Con Mi Amor, No Aguanto Mas and No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti. With the success of this first album, Lopez founded in 1998 E. L. I. Records (Estilo Libre International Records,Inc).

2007 marks Lopez's 2nd solo album entitled "Abrazame", which will be released soon on E.L.I.RECORDS RECORDS label building on the continued success of the latin freestyle dance market.

Lopez's marks the entry of E.L.I.Records entries into the burgeoning "Reggaeton" marketplace which keeps Freddy Lopez busy constantly on the search for new artists.

Freddy López is the host of the long-running New York-based public access television show, El Show de Freddy López. First aired in 1995, the self-described "Freestyle Music Variety Bilingual Show" has seen its viewing audience reach out of the East Coast tri-state area into Ohio and Puerto Rico.
