This happened autum 1994, stockholm, sweden. Ten years later the band has made 2 full length albums, 2 Ep's, 5 cd singles, 2 7" singles and the collected demoworks is around 9 or 10 depending on how to count it. Thet have played approximately 200 gigs touring Sweden (a couple of times!!) gigs in the UK, France, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Latvia are included. Now they're just about going to the US and later on this spring to Brazil. Three Videos are made and two more is on the forthcoming EP.

The Band has a lot of influences and it is those who sets the mark of their music. The American indiescene together with the English equivalent from the late 80's and 90's makes the base together with the daily life for a salesclerk at the national railroad, a producer at the national radio and a guide at the medevial museum of Stockholm.

Hell on Wheels is firstly noticed by Rickard Lindgren (Singer, guitarist) who have a very distinct voice that is hard to forget and the way he play guitar is hard to copy...it's his own style. Åsa Sohlgren, the bassplayer and backvocalist is one of the coolest women on stage with a steady base and angelic voice, she is compensating the leadmans frantic ways on stage. All is backed by Johan Risberg with a firm beat, selftought as he is the beats sometimes come out primitive but always with conviction.

To sum upp the band you might understand they're very devoted to their music, they'll just play on and on.....

Hell on Wheels All Music Guide Biography

Swedish indie pop group Hell on Wheels was formed in 1994 in Stockholm by guitarist/vocalist Rickard Lindgren, bassist Åsa Sohlgren, and drummer Johan Risberg. Lindgren and Sohlgren grew up down the street from one another in Oxelösund before Sohlgren met Risberg in 1991 -- the rhythm section later married -- and the trio eventually relocated to Stockholm and declared their status as a band. Hell on Wheels has since released a series of EPs and singles alongside their first full-length, There Is a Generation of Handicapped People to Carry On, which was released in 2001 on the North of No South label. Oh My God What Have I Done followed in 2003. ~ Gregory McIntosh, All Music Guide
