Long time associate of Curtis Mayfield.

Has co-written Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long".

Has duetted with Betty Everett, Brenda Lee Eager, Thelma Houston and Gene Chandler.

Has collaborated with Exuma and Jerry Peters for the blaxploitation soundtracks, "Joe Original Soundtrack" and "Melinda (Original Music From The Motion Picture)".

He's also an American politician. He serves Commissioner for Cook County, Illinois, having first been elected in 1985.
