Martha Munizzi Biography

The daughter of evangelists, Martha Munizzi has spent her entire life in ministry. This powerhouse vocalist has built a large international following through her soulful and passionate style of praise and worship. Although, she’s been singing professionally for well over a decade, Martha has become an overnight sensation on the heels of her best-selling CD The Best is Yet to Come.

Among her smash radio hits are “Shout”, “Say The Name", "Glorious” and “Because of Who You Are.” This sensational singer is being embraced by the public and critics alike. She has received numerous Dove and Stellar Award nominations as both a performer and songwriter. And, in 2005, she won a Stellar Award for “New Artist of the Year.” Her songs are making a global impact, becoming modern day praise and worship standards. Several of her songs have been recorded by other artists and have appeared on the gold-selling “Gotta Have Gospel” albums and the platinum-selling iWORSHIP albums.

To date, Martha has released three independent projects worldwide, including Say The Name, The Best Is Yet To Come and When He Came. The Best Is Yet To Come propelled Martha’s ministry into the stratosphere generating such hits as “Glorious”, “Mighty God” and “God Is Here.” This project peaked at #2 on the Billboard Top Gospel Album charts in 2004 and has remained on the charts for more than a year. Martha’s 2004 holiday recording When He Came entered Billboard’s Top Gospel charts at #5. In addition, Billboard magazine named Martha one of the top five Gospel Artists for 2004 and tapped her project “The Best Is Yet To Come” as one of the top ten (10) selling Gospel projects for 2004.

Award-winning gospel performer Martha Munizzi was born in central Florida to a religious musical family who had Martha and her twin sister, Mary, touring the country with them singing by the age of eight. Her first album, 2002's Say the Name, came out on Point to Point, and was followed up with two self-released records, The Best Is Yet to Come (2003) and When He Came (2004), both of which debuted high on Billboard's gospel chart. In 2006, Munizzi was nominated for a Grammy for Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album, and also released a CD/DVD set, No Limits: Live, on the Sony label.
