Henry Wells

Wells studied music at Fisk University and Cincinnati Conservatory in the '20s and began playing professionally in 1926. While at Fisk, he met Jimmie Lunceford, who fronted a student band called the Chickasaw Syncopators. Wells joined the Lunceford band as it turned professional in 1929, staying until 1935.
