Herman Kelly & Life

Herman Kelly & Life were part of the Miami-based TK Records empire, recording for its Alston and Electric Cat subsidiaries during the late '70s. Their 1978 single "Dance to the Drummer's Beat" became a staple of early hip-hop DJs thanks to its funky percussion break, and was sampled heavily in years to come.
