2010 Lilith Tour Announces Dates, Venues, Artists for Eight of 26 Cities
Wed, 17 Mar 2010 08:29:29
The original version of Lilith Fair, which consisted mostly of female solo acts and female-fronted bands, ran in the summers of 1997 through 1999 before disappearing from pop culture's radar. The chick-friendly fest returns this summer, on a 36-city run that now includes Las Vegas, Cleveland and Kansas City as stops on the road.
Tickets for initial shows will go on-sale to the general public beginning Saturday, March 27 via LilithFair.com and LiveNation.com. More information is set to be revealed later this week from Miss McLachlan herself. There will also be more special pre-sale offers, so get your credit cards ready.
Each date will feature 11 artists performing, with only two consistencies per show, those being the opening act and the headliner. Each date will be opened by a winner from the Lilith Local Talent Search Outstage.com contest and each date will close with Sarah McLachlan's performance. With those bookends in place, the remaining nine acts of the day will rotate constantly among more than 80 artists. So each date is truly customized and a "one of a kind" show. If you love chick rock, go see as many of the dates as you can, because you'll never see the same show twice. Smart move on the Lilith Fair organizers' part.
The following is the list of dates that go on-sale on Saturday, March 27. For the list of artists playing each city, please point and click here. Some key acts include Sheryl Crow, the Indigo Girls, Corinne Bailey Rae, Heart, Cat Power, Emmylou Harris, The Bangles and Kelly Clarkson.
