As J.C. says, "nothing mainstream is relevant."
Julian Casablancas & the Voidz will tour North America this fall. Casablancas is the frontman of The Strokes, too, as you should know.
The Immaculate Powerlords Tour runs from September through October. Here are three reasons to go! (Update as of August 17th, 2015: the tour has been canceled.)
• Julian Casablancas is certainly easy on the eyes and fun to watch. See him outside of his normal and more familiar gig that is the singer of The Strokes.
• Early fall tours as the best. Summer has given up her fight and is fading, with cool, crisp days and nights ahead. I always love to hit a venue when it's not too hot and not too cold to see some good rawk, like this.
• Who knows when JC+The Voidz will tour again? I once skipped seeing Elliott Smith perform on a side stage at a live, outdoor festival since it was pissing down buckets of rain and because I got a great seat to watch Radiohead. My roommate and I rationalized that we could see Elliott Smith in the city ANYTIME and that seeing Thom Yorke and co. in a stadium was more rare of an option. Smith died later that year, so I am bummed I missed him. Don't delay and don't regret something you HAVE NOT done.
The latest album from JC+The Voidz is Tyranny, and here's a nice long video for "Human Sadness:">
