50 Cent received both probation and 30 days of community service after accepting a plea deal to avoid jail time in his domestic violence case.
The rapper, born Curtis Jackson, faced a charge of domestic violence and four charges of misdemeanor vandalism after he got into it with his ex, model Daphne Joy, over the summer. He was accused of kicking her and causing $7,000 worth of damage to her property.
50 faced five years in jail when he pleaded not guilty. He then worked out a deal to stay out of jail, pleading no count to the vandalism charge.
He now has to serve probation for three years and perform community services. He will attend counseling and pay Joy $7,000 for the damage he caused. The domestic violence charge has been dropped. There is a restraining order that prevents him from contacting her that remains in place.
