50 Cent Issues Statement About Long Island Fire Involving his ex-girlfriend and son The Long Island home of 50 Cent was reduced to rubble early Friday morning after a "suspicious" fire left his ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, and her two children (including Fiddy's 10-year-old son) hospitalized.

"Informed this morning while filming a new motion picture on location in Louisiana, Curtis Jackson expressed deep concern over this fire at his property," his rep said in a statement. "He is extremely thankful that everyone including his son, Marquise, escaped the burning house safely. He is confident that authorities will be conducting a thorough investigation of the incident and is eager to review their findings."

Six people were taken to a Long Island hospital after the fire. They're all in stable condition after being treated for smoke inhalation.

"I would say there is a strong—a strong, strong—possibility that it is suspicious," Dix Hills Fire Department Chief Larry Feld told Newsday. "The volume of the fire...It was engulfed."

50 Cent bought the home in January 2007 for $1.4 million. He tried to evict Tompkins last month after asking her for $4,500 a month in rent. She then filed a breach of contract suit, claiming that the rapper promised to put the house in her name. 50 Cent is not a suspect in the fire's ongoing investigation despite the former couple's ongoing quarrel.
