50 Cent Says Botched First Pitch at Mets Game Was Not a PR Stunt

50 Cent tossed out the ceremonial first pitch at the New York Mets game at Citi Field last Tuesday (May 27) and it was embarrassingly awful. The botched and sloppy pitch was labeled a PR stunt to promote 50's new album, but the rapper insists that the ball slipped.
The first pitch, thrown before a Mets home game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, was criticized as awful, worse than that thrown by Howard Stern producer Gary Dell'Abate, which was coincidentally tossed before a Mets game. Dell'Abate is a diehard Mets fan and his pathetic pitch is STILL laughed at today. And then 50 Cent's pitch was lambasted in the media after the fact, creating lots of chatter about him.
When asked on Good Morning America if he did a dirty and messy pitch on purpose to promote his new album Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire to Win, the rapper said, "Oh no, it slipped! It slipped out of my hand. I'm not a professional pitcher, I make music."
Fitty also said that a cop busted his chops over the toss, saying, "I actually got pulled over by New York City police. He pulled me over and I said, 'I got my license, right?,' because I was a little nervous when he pulled me over. I was, like, 'Oh no, what did I do?' and then he said, 'You know that pitch was terrible...'"
Dayum. Even the po po gave him shit over that pitch.
Do you believe the rapper was the victim of a slip or was his bad pitch part of a plan to further promote his new album?
