The fifth episode of "Pioneering," a weekly music video series sponsored by A.V. Club, the pop-culture-focused sister site of The Onion, and Honda, launched this week. The episode features Texas folk artist Shakey Graves and his tribute to psychedelic-rock group Jefferson Airplane.
It's interesting, so watch that shit!
In support of Honda's redesigned Civic Coupe, the "Pioneering" series follows critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Eef Barzelay as he drives from coast to coast in a Civic Coupe, unraveling the launching points for some of music's most iconic artists and meeting up with other musicians along the way.
We have owned Civics and they are GREAT cars! Tanks on wheels! Safe! Cute! Fun to drive.
The eight-part series, which debuted April 14, brings music fans of all genres the stories of groundbreaking American musicians as told by current-day artists. A new episode will run every Monday through June 2.
So it's winding down, but you can watch the latest ep at avclub.com/pioneering.
To further bring music fans closer to the "Pioneering" experience, at the conclusion of the series on June 5, Honda and A.V. Club will host a concert at the famed Lincoln Hall featuring a surprise headliner. During the concert, fans can virtually interact with the headliner by socially voting on what songs will be performed during the concert using the #LoveToday and #Pioneering hashtags.
Will you be a "Pioneer?"
