Aaron Lewis Solo Tour Starts This Week
Mon, 04 Oct 2010 07:28:31
Staind vocalist Aaron Lewis has one of the biggest, boldest and most powerfully emotive voices in all of rock music, but that won't stop Lewis from stripping down—not that way, you pervs—and playing acoustically on a solo tour that launches October 7, which is next week.
Lewis is also going to head overseas on his first USO tour, where he will play for troops in the Persian Gulf. If that's not enough to convince you that Lewis is a swell guy, then let me tell you what else he does. The singer's It Takes A Community Foundation (ITAC) – founded by Lewis and his wife Vanessa –helped RH Conwell Elementary School in Worthington, Massachusetts get a reprieve; the school recently re-opened its doors, thanks in part to funds raised by last month's "Aaron Lewis & Friends" benefit concert held over the summer.
Lewis and his family's efforts have enabled the RH Conwell Elementary School to provide a seamless transition from a district run facility to a community school. To date, ITAC has raised $150,000 in support of the school. See, you can be a massive rock star and a small town boy at heart at the same time.
If only more rock stars were as noble as Staind's Aaron Lewis. Check out our most recent interview with Aaron here!
