AC/DC are gearing up for the release of Rock or Bust, which won't feature longtime guitarist Malcolm Young, as he is battling dementia. Now, drummer Phil Rudd has been arrested on charges of attempting to procure a hit man to kill two people. The band said Rudd's drama will not affect the album release.
Rudd had been accused of attempting to have two men killed. The identities of the intended victims and the motive have yet to be revealed. But the charges were just dropped due to lack of evidence.
Other charges still pending against Rudd including threatening to kill and the possession of drugs - namely marijuana and methamphetamine.
Even so, Rudd's bandmates claim that they found out about his problems when they were made public and they did not have any prior knowledge of his plot.
The band's statement was thus: "We've only become aware of Phil's arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil's absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year."
Jeez! What a mess.
What is your take on this drama? It should not reflect on Rudd's bandmates.
