Good Cause Alert!
We love to spread the word about good causes and see if we can get you involved, on an informational or an active level.
On May 30, ACT V: The End of AIDS and Arms Around the Child will celebrate the launch of EndGame: the global campaign to defeat AIDS, TB and Malaria at The McKittrick Hotel in New York City.
The evening features the full theatrical production of Sleep No More, the acclaimed immersive, experiential play, as well as pre-and post-show performances by the likes of Santigold, Angela McCluskey, DJ Chelsea Leyland, The Hot Sardines and King Holiday. Proceeds from the event will fund the direct care that Arms Around the Child provides to children in adversity in the impoverished world and EndGame's ongoing efforts.
"I'm honored to have the opportunity to help get the word out about Act V: The End of AIDS and its incredible mission to defeat HIV/AIDS for good. It's exciting to be able to perform at such a cool event for such an important cause," says Santi White of Santigold about her participation.
Act V: The End of AIDS, Arms Around the Child and EndGame are all endeavors created by the incomparable Leigh Blake, one of the world's foremost crusaders against HIV/AIDS in the global community. Blake has been an international public health advocate for more than twenty years. She co-founded the Red Hot Organization which uses music to create public awareness of HIV/AIDS and founded Keep A Child Alive (KCA), which provides anti-retroviral treatment and care to children and families with HIV/AIDS.
"We have an historic opportunity to defeat AIDS, TB and Malaria now and that is our focus," says Blake. "But there are millions of Orphans left vulnerable in the wake of these three diseases. Our sister organization, Arms Around the Child exists to protect and nurture them. But I don't want to fundraise in the same old way anymore so partnering with The McKittrick Hotel is a way forward to re-envisioning our charitable events. Join us in our circus of amazing performers and experiences on May 30 in New York City."
EndGame is a proud partner of The Global Fund to fights AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, and will be launching a worldwide campaign this summer. Watch this space for details about getting involved, supporting the cause, and more.
