Wed, 03 Nov 2010 16:35:52
British singer-songwriter Adele will release 21 on February 22. It's 21 on 22, if you need a numerical device to help you remember this release date. 21 is the follow up to Adele's critically acclaimed, award-winning debut album 19. Both albums are named after Adele's age at the time the songs were written. Ah, to be 21 again!
Adele is a bona-fide superstar in the music world, as her debut received two Grammy Awards in 2009; one for Best New Artist and other Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Adele, who is now 22, recorded 21 in both Malibu and London, giving it a global vibe. This new collection of songs showcases the growth of this incredible artist who exhibits the poise of a seasoned veteran. Adele's music takes some new direction while staying true to her signature style. "I discovered lots of artists I'd never heard of, particularly Wanda Jackson, Allison Krauss, Yvonne Fair, Andrew Bird, Neko Case, Lady Antebellum and Steel Drivers who I fell in love with. Then I delved in to more from artists I've loved forever - Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Elbow, Mos Def, Alanis Morissette, Tom Waits and Sinead O'Connor. There's something in every single one of these artists that have really really inspired 21" noted Adele in a statement.
"Rolling in the Deep," the pounding, energetic first single from 21, will impact at adult radio formats on November 15. The video for "Rolling in the Deep" was directed by Sam Brown (Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Doves) and will premiere in early December.
