Pacino is attached to star in one of the lead roles and he will act among several younger actors. The script centers on the relationship between an older man who works in the finance world, who Pacino would play, and the twenty-something son he never truly connected with. The two men forge a bond, even though the son is a free-spirited drifter teaching in a downtown New York City school. The son also has the rare ability to "blink" and read scenarios easily and size up situations. His father hopes to use that ability to make money for them on Wall Street. The film was originally set up at Universal but is now living in the indie world.
Pacino is also set to star in You Don't Know Jack, an HBO Films biopic about Dr. Jack Kevorkian, who became surrounded by a swell of controversy by assisting the terminally ill with suicide. He eventually became known as Dr. Death. He is serving a sentence for second-degree murder in a maximum-security prison in Michigan. Barry Levinson is on board to direct the project and will follow Kevorkian's career as he rose to fame for his assisted suicides and euthanasia. Pacino will play Kevorkian.
