With Fan of a Fan: The Album [iTunes link, Chris Brown and Tyga team up to cook up 12 of the biggest anthems of both of their careers. Now, with all of the hits between these two titans, that’s saying a real lot, but it’s indisputably true. One listen will confirm that!
Fan of a Fan plays like it could be some kind of “Greatest Hits” of the future for this duo, and hopefully it lays the foundation for countless collaborations of this kind. The record comes to life so vividly because both of the guys do what they do best. Brown carries smooth, slick, and sexy hooks and drops real fire on his bars, while Tyga’s rapping is downright incendiary with clever lines abounding and infectious charisma.
“Westside” kicks everything off with a new school Southern California anthem that’s as crisp as Cali Sunshine. Ty Dolla Sign lends his buttery-smooth croon to the appropriately titled “Nothin’ Like Me,” which takes off on the strength of all three voices. The out-of-the-box hit “Ayo” gets catchier every time it’s spun.
50 Cent drops by “I Bet” with one of his most fun bars ever, Pusha T comes off grizzly with a gutter stomp punch on “D.G.I.F.U. (Don’t Get It Fucked Up).” Boosie Badazz sizzles through “Real One,” and the West Coast smoke billows higher than ever on the ScHoolboy Q-assisted “Bitches N Marijuana.” One of the biggest standout appearances comes from Fat Trel. He beefs up "Lights Out" with a dominating stance that places him on the same plane as all the iconic A-list MC's guesting. It's a break out moment for him.
Ultimately, you’re going to be a fan of Fan of a Fan immediately and for a long time after that. It’s a new classic.
