Album Review: Revolution Saints – "Revolution Saints" - By ARTISTdirect.com editor in chief Rick Florino...

Deen Castronovo can carry a note to the heavens and back.

Of course the man's established himself as one of the world's foremost skinsmen in Journey, but with Revolution Saints his voice takes center stage. Moreover, this colossal team-up sees the drummer and vocalist join forces with Night Ranger and Damn Yankees' Jack Blades on bass and Whitesnake and Dio axeman Doug Aldrich for one banger after another.

"Back On My Trail" sets the tone with a rollicking riff and drum steamroll driven by Castronovo's towering vocals, while Journey's Neal Schon makes a scorching cameo on "Way To The Sun," and Arnel Pineda turns up—literally he goes hard—on "You're Not Alone."

Still, it's the likes of "To Mend A Broken Heart" and "In The Name Of The Father" that really illuminate the heart and talent of this power trio. They've got enough energy (and the pedigree) to singlehandedly usher in a new age of rock. It's a Revolution for sure.
