Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas and John Legend will join a smattering of South American and African musicians for the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert, which takes place on June 10 at Orlando Stadium, which has just been renovated, in Johannesburg's Soweto Township. The concert takes place a day before the 2010 tournament begins. The event represents the first time that FIFA has organized a multiple artist "kick off" concert such as this. It is expected that more acts will be added to the lineup over the next several weeks.

Other international acts performing include Shakira and fellow Colombian Juanes, as well as Mali's Amadou & Mariam. Angelique Kidjo (from Benin) will also perform.

South Africa has three acts scheduled to perform, which is important as they are the event's host country. Rock bands BLK JKS and The Partolones will play, as will folk singer-songwriter Vusi Mahlasela.
