ARTISTdirect editor in chief Rick Florino sat down with lovely actress Amber Heard to discuss her new thriller Paranoia, which is out this Friday, August 16. She also spoke of her love of blues music; what's on her current playlist; and more in this exclusive interview.
The beautiful Heard revealed that she loves her job since she is able to "put on someone else's clothes" when she tackles a new role. She loves her Paranoia character since she is strong, independent and set out to make a name for herself, fighting on her own merits, her own wit and her own strength in a male-dominated corporate world. That's why we liked the character, too! You will, as well, when you go see the film.
Heard also said that she crafts playlists for scenes to help her get inspired and into character.
Since this is a generational tale about the gap and a modern David and Goliath story dealing corporate espionage, she tried to incorporate new, underground hip-hop and techno, which is the modern generation's music, with a second half that was more traditional, for her personal playlist.
She name=checked Vampire Weekend, but she has a soft spot for delta blues, like R.L. Burnside, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King and more.
