"American Idol" Runner Up Crystal Bowersox to Release "Farmer's Daughter"

American Idol season nine runner-up Crystal Bowersox revealed the album cover of her upcoming debut, Farmer's Daughter, through her Twitter account on Monday. Have I not been preaching all year that Twitter is the new press release? So many artists and celebs post Tweets in order to spread the news, rather than issuing press releases via their expensively retained flacks.
Back to the news at hand: the Farmer's Daughter cover photo features the Ohio-born 'Sox posing on the porch of a boarded-up house with a dog. Bowersox said she wrote about 90 percent of the album herself and that she covered "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield. The album is available as of December 14 and it should be a music biz event, especially for all those Idol watchers that preferred Bowersox to Lee DeWyze.
Do you think that whether or not you win or lose American Idol doesn't matter, since the end result is the same? The runners up always end up getting signed and releasing albums!
