    American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen was dropped by his label RCA Records. Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news with a label rep.

    Ironically, Adam Lambert, the singer who lost to Allen on Idol, was also signed to RCA after the season and remains with the label. So winning the Idol crown doesn't always lead to lasting success. Lambert didn't win and he is doing just fine.
