The LBD (that's "little black dress") is a staple of any woman's wardrobe! But the LWD (little white dress) is just as viable a wardrobe option! That's why the LWD dress that Amy Winehouse wore on the cover of her breakthrough Back to Black album is being auctioned off later this month in London.
$32,000 is the expected fetching price for the dress created by Disaya Sorakraikitikul and lent to Winehouse for the cover shoot. Even if the winning bidder doesn't actually wear the dress, it's a nice piece of music and pop culture history and posterity.
All proceeds raised from the dress auction will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity that the late singer's father started in the wake of her death to help people who struggle with addictions, as Amy herself did.
Amy Winehouse died on July 23 at the age of 27 from overconsumption of alcohol.
