Amy Winehouse's Boyfriend Refuses Offer to Make a Film About Her

Director Reg Traviss was late singer Amy Winehouse's boyfriend at the time of her death, and he has turned down an offer to make a movie of about Winehouse's interesting life, insisting that it's just too painful of an endeavor for him to attempt.
Traviss told Britain's Sunday Mirror that "I guess a biopic is inevitable. I have been asked but I honestly don't think I could do it. I'd be too close to it. But whoever does write and direct the film may exaggerate certain points to make it more Hollywood. The family would want to be involved to make sure that it's done justice. But right now it's all too raw."
We cannot blame Traviss for turning down the offer. He is probably still in the mourning process and hasn't fully processed his emotions. Perhaps he will want to make a film about Winehouse, who died July 23 at 27 from drinking too much alcohol, once he achieves closure and the wound is not so raw. If anyone can properly tell her story, it'd have to be Reg Traviss, with her family's blessing.
Would you watch an Amy Winehouse biopic?
