Amy Winehouse's father is said to be pleased that a toxicology report has proven that his troubled daughter was not taking illegal drugs before her death last month.
On Tuesday, toxicology tests showed that there were no illegal drugs present in her body when she died, although she had been drinking alcohol. How and if the alcohol factored into her death is unknown at this time.
Her father Mitch Winehouse told Britain's The Sun, "This doesn't make me feel the loss of my daughter any less, but we are pleased to be able to set the record straight to a certain extent."
He addressed the fact that her boyfriend Reg Traviss is devastated by press reports about Winehouse, saying, "Reg has said that the person that she has been painted as in some quarters was just so far away from the Amy he knew." Reports that the "Rehab" went on a drug binge prior to her death on July 23 were widely reported.
An inquest into her death with take place in October to help determine the cause.
