Producer Salaam Remi told New York City's Power 105.1 FM that Amy Winehouse's much-awaited third album is not complete, and won't be released in the near future.
The singer's unheard work was said to be enough to fill three albums, but Remi, a long-time producer and pal of Winehouse, revealed that the album was nowhere near completion and will unlikely see a posthumous release.
He told the radio station that "We were working on it; it's not a complete album. We had a lot of things going, there are recordings, but first things first, I think. We're trying to focus on what's at hand and what her family wants to do. So those reports (of a release) are false."
Speaking about Winehouse the singer, he continued, "To put it all in a nutshell, Amy loved to sing, to write… that ability never left her. She was very good at channeling her emotions into lyrics, and then being able to sing them. She was in a place to go forward and make it happen… The way that Amy and I always created was she would write and we would toss ideas around.
He also spoke highly of Winehouse the person, saying, "Amy had strong opinions on everything… She was very opinionated about what she liked. At the end, she was a real person. She had a huge heart."
Are you bummed that Amy Winehouse's unfinished material will likely be shelved?
