Angelina Jolie-Funded School Opens in Afghanistan

After visiting a refugee settlement in an eastern province of war-torn Afghanistan, that do-gooder, Academy Award winner, one-half of the world's most famous (and genetically blessed) supercouple and mom to a brood of six known as Angelina Jolie—and really, could her resume get any more impressive?—donated $75,000 towards the construction of a primary school for girls in Tangi. That hefty lump of scratch went towards the school's construction and Jolie's karma Q Factor probably soared through the friggen roof! However, Jolie probably could donate even more after how well Wanted did…
The facility features eight classrooms, a well and eight latrines and will open this coming Monday, March 22, when the Afghani school year begins. This construction is considered a victory for school-aged children in the region, as UNICEF recently built classrooms to accommodate 1300 students, but parents were reluctant to send daughters to a school alongside of boys, due to the region's cultural mores.
Igbal Azizi, head of the region's provincial education, indicated that Tangi girls would have been deprived of education without Jolie's generous gift. So all jokes aside, props to Jolie for making something that we take for granted, such as a school building, a reality for Tangi girls.
