Annie Leibovitz's Photo of John Lennon and Yoko Ono to Be Auctioned

One of the famous photos that shutterbug Annie Leibovitz took of John Lennon shortly before he was killed is going up for auction in New York City. The photo was taken in December 1980 right before Lennon was shot to death and was for Rolling Stone. It's a photo of Ono and Lennon embracing; it is not the world-recognized photo of a naked Lennon embracing the clothed Ono, which is one of the most famous rock 'n' roll images of the modern era.
The photo is one of 40 copies and is expected to bring $10,000 to $15,000 at Swann Auction Galleries on October 19. The photo is being sold by a private collector and is not part of Leibovitz's settlement over debts and rights to her own work. The photog was in quite a bit of legal hot water in recent years.
Would you bid on this photo and frame it and hang it in your abode?
