Coca-Cola and RCA Records have confirmed that the single "Anywhere In the World" is available via iTunes. "Move to the Beat" is the Coca-Cola-sponsored, global teen-focused Olympic Games campaign that celebrates the beat of London 2012.
The track features the sounds of sport and music fused together by Grammy Award-winning producer Mark Ronson, with lyrics and vocals provided by 2011 UK Mercury Music Prize nominee Katy B.
Mark Ronson traveled the world gaining inspiration for the song and meeting young athletes to record the sounds of their sport, before teaming up with UK chart-topper Katy B to provide the vocals.
The athletes whose sounds form the beat of the track are:
• Darius Knight, table tennis player from Great Britain
• David Oliver, 110m hurdler from the United States
• Kseniya Vdovina, 400m sprinter from Russia
• Dayyan Jaffar, archer from Singapore
• Maria Espinoza, taekwondo athlete from Mexico
How cool is that? Athletic sounds become part of a song.
The ambition of the Move to the Beat ™ campaign is to bring teens closer to the Olympic Games and to sport in general. Harnessing teens' passion for music and drawing inspiration from London's musical heritage, the campaign fuses London music with Olympic sport to connect young people to London 2012.
"I've been able to do something really unique, meeting these remarkable athletes and recording their sounds to use in this song," said Ronson. "It's exciting."
Katy B said, "Working with Mark was a great experience and meeting the athletes was so inspiring. It's exciting to get a feel for the atmosphere that's coming to London for the Olympic Games."
