April Is National Poetry Month + You Can Get In on the Fun

April is National Poetry Month, but poetry often gets a bad rap for being too old-fashioned, boring, or difficult to understand. Few can verbalize what it is, but they know it when they see or hear it. Most that modern forms of poetry (such as music!) can be extremely dynamic.
Grammarly, a San Francisco startup looking to perfect written English with an automated spell and grammar checking tool that far surpasses any others on the market (think: Microsoft's spell checker on steroids), is celebrating National Poetry Month by holding a humorous contest to encourage people to think about proper writing's place in music.
Through May 10, 2013, they're inviting people to edit the lyrics of their favorite song and then record the new version of the song. Upload a video of the grammatically correct performance to their "Remix Your Rhymes" contest page, along with the name of the original song and the artist, and be entered for a chance to win a $300 gift card for MusiciansFriend.com.
