Arcade Fire have finished recording their new album. In an interview with Red Bull Poland, via ArcadeFireTube, drummer Jeremy Gara explained Arcade Fire have finished recording all the tracks for the new LP, which "should come out this year." However, the band is "still mixing and trying to decide which songs will end up on the record, because we've recorded more than we need." He also remarked on the pressure surrounding the fifth studio LP, but stressed there's no need to hurry the process, I know we're a popular band, but we always stick to the same rule; we record until we feel that the music is ready."
Gara also talked about plans for what looks like to be a massive two-year tour, "I don't know where we're going to play, I don't know when we start, or when we finish," he explained. "From my perspective, it looks like Arcade Fire starts in April and finish around April 2019." The band currently has nine festival gigs set for June and July, including performances at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain; Isle of Wight Festival in England; and Roskilde Festival in Denmark.
On January 27th, Arcade Fire will be putting out The Reflektor Tapes/Live at Earls Court. The DVD collects their first feature film and concert footage from their 2014 Reflektor tour.
Arcade Fire last released Reflektor in 2013. No released date for the forthcoming album has been revealed at this time.
