Last Sunday night Ariana Grande lead a huge line up of stars from the world of pop music at the One Love Manchester concert. The event was one part of the artist's response to the terror attack that struck her concert in the city on May 22nd.
The attack killed 23 people and injured 119, and the One Love Manchester concert raised £13M to be distributed to the victims and those affected by the event. The event saw stirring performances from a range of stars from Manchester's most notorious bad-boy Liam Gallagher to Coldplay, Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, Miley Cyrus and, as well a host of others, of course, Ariana Grande herself.
In a night filled with emotional performances, and almost endless singing from the crowd of 50,000, it was Grande's final song of the night "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" that brought most tears to the eyes. Her powerfully charged performance resonated most in the hearts of those watching in the stadium and at home. Now the pop singer is releasing a recording of her performance of Judy Garland's classic song — again to raise funds for victims and those affected by the tragic attack.
Grande also re-released her hit single "One Last Time" so that profits could go to charity, now available on iTunes a high percentage of the download fee is going directly to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund in coordination with the British Red Cross and Manchester City Council.
