A$AP Rocky was the target a violent home invasion on Tuesday night. According to TMZ three armed intruders entered the rapper's house just before midnight local time, making off with over $1.5 million in assets.
The 28-year old rapper, born Rakim Mayers, wasn't at home during the intrusion, but his sister who answered the door to the men was held at gunpoint and was forced to lead the men around the house, she was uninjured during the heist.
According to reports Police have estimated that the men made off with over $1.5 million, mainly in jewelry and other property. Having made an attempt to take the safe they abandoned their efforts, when Rocky's sister was unable to provide the combination. They left it on the sidewalk outside the residence before making their escape.
Sources have speculated that the attack was a targeted hit — a response to a video that shows A$AP Bari pushing cash through a money counting machine, which was shared on Rocky's Instagram. That video has since been deleted but Rocky is heard to be saying, "When you young and you getting too much money and you ain't got enough time to count all your money. Go ahead Bari blood. Count them racks real quick."
At this point no suspects have been named, and no arrests have been made.Download A$AP Rocky music from iTunes
