Artists Respond to Glenn Frey's Death

Musician and songwriter Glenn Frey passed away on Monday, January 19, 2016, at the age of 67 from complications from arthritis, colitis, and pneumonia, while recovering from intestinal surgery. A founding member of the Eagles, Frey sang a variety of hits for the band, including "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise," and "Heartache Tonight," just to name a few. As solo artist, Frey went on to release a string of Top 40 hits, such as "The One You Love," "Smuggler's Blues," and "Sexy Girl."
Well-respected as one of the greatest songwriters of the modern era, Glenn Frey was able to tap into the American ethos reach individuals from all walks of life. Since 1970, when Frey first met a young Don Henley, Glenn has been releasing music to the world. Over the last forty-plus years, he has released twelve albums between his tenure with the Eagles and as a soloist, the last, After Hours, coming in 2012.
Upon hearing of his passing, artists from around the globe displayed their respect for the incredible talent Frey displayed throughout his life. From country to rock 'n roll to pop, a variety of stars had something to say about the man and the artist.
