Asking Alexandria have been promising to put the rock 'n' roll back in heavy metal.

Guess what? They've accomplished that mission with flying fucking colors on "The Death of Me"—their new single from their forthcoming From Death To Destiny. In many ways, the song stands emblematic of their immense evolution and preservation of their touchstones. A battering guitar chug wraps around syncopated beats and hints of electronic orchestration in the background. For all of you Stand Up and Scream fans, it's brutal at all the right moments. However, singer Danny Worsnop takes center stage with the band's biggest and most bombastic hook ever as he cathartically wails, "I won't let you be the death of me".

The push-and-pull between Cameron Liddell and Ben Bruce's calculated crushing six-string murder and Worsnop's hypnotically catchy singing makes for the most dynamic display from Asking Alexandria yet.

This isn't the "death" of Asking Alexandria. It's the beginning of one of the biggest careers in modern metal—and one of the best songs of 2013.
