While At the Drive-In may be playing high-profile reunion shows this year, guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has said that just because the band has reconvened to perform live does not mean that it will record an album. It's strictly for the stage and for the fans...for now.
"Will there be a new album? No, no, no," he told Kerrang!. "At The Drive-In is more of a nostalgia thing – it's songs we wrote when we were all in our 20s and we're doing a couple of shows. It's an old T-shirt that doesn't fit me any more, but when you put it on again, it feels nice. It's as simple as that."
Yes, we understand and appreciate OR-L's sentiments that sometimes putting on that old t-shirt feels so good. Too good to take off, maybe?
Do you wish that At the Drive-In would record an album? Or are you happy with it being a "live only thing?" What would you sacrifice for new ATD-I material?
