At the Drive-In's Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has said that the band's recent reunion is a way for him to right his wrongs from a decade ago.
The guitarist, who with singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala went on to form The Mars Volta when ATD-I split, told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe that he is happy the band got back together to play Coachella this April.
OR-L said, "It's a way to right my wrongs. When I split up the band I was very young and self-centered." He also said that CB-Z was the one who encouraged him to participate, saying," Cedric said 'I know The Mars Volta is your baby and it's always been your vision but lighten up, it's 11 years later and it could be fun'. And I'm glad he did that." Sometimes that's all it takes.
He also shared how things went down when the ex-members got into a room together, revealing that the magic was still there, saying, "We got into a room together just to play music and see what happened. We knew if we got into a room together we'd know within five minutes whether it was a good idea or not. The chemistry was still there." That's amazing to hear!
At the Drive-In split in 2001 after releasing the seminal Relationship of Command.
