Leanne Herbert, an Australian woman accused of scamming over $100,000 in false AC/DC tickets, has been arrested. Herbert, 41, was arrested for spending seven months promoting a fake, 2005 show by the band in Sydney. She is charged with "obtaining money by deception." She sold tickets and sponsorship deals for a concert that wasn't confirmed or planned by the band. She reportedly scammed fan, businesses, charities and children, in a move that will certainly have karmic repercussions. But once again, I must ask: how did people purchase tickets or sponsor a show that was not confirmed? Isn't this a case of buyer beware? There are ways to find out about the validity of concerts that do not require too much effort. Just sayin'.
Herbert has not yet entered a plea and is being held at the Emu Plains Correctional Centre in Oz.
What type of punishment would best fit this crime?
