Songbird Avril Lavigne, known for her punk rock chic, and Kohl's are breaking up. Lavigne is going to sell items from her fashion line directly to the consumer via the Internet, giving her freer reign over business and design decisions. Av was selling her clothing line Abbey Dawn at Kohl's locations for the past few years.
Lavigne will also sell her clothing through various boutiques such as Trash and Vaudeville in NYC and the UK's Blue Banana chain, keeping her entrenched in the brick and mortar world, too.
Lavigne said that "[Kohl's] was a great way to start my line and a great home for it for two-and-a-half years. The thing with me is…I really want my clothes to be available internationally." She continued, "I'm designing it for me, really. I learned a lot about myself with designing.…The stuff I was really excited about [for Kohl's] did well. It gave me the confidence.…You don't have to be perfect. It's about having fun. It's a lot of fun. It's another way to be creative. It's all the same. It comes from me."
Did you ever check out Abbey Dawn? Would you buy Avril Lavigne-designed items?
