Badly Drawn Boy, where have you been all my life? Okay, so maybe it's not that dramatic, but where have you been for the past three years? BDD, AKA Damon Gough, has announced details of a North American tour in October, his first in three years. The dates coincide with his new album, slated for release on October 12 from our friends at The End Records. It's a two-week tour but what it lacks in length, it'll make up for in impact.

    Dates are as follows:

12/01 Boston, MA Paradise Rock Club
12/03 New York, NY Le Poisson Rouge
12/04 New York, NY Le Poisson Rouge
    12/05 Alexandria, VA The Birchmere
12/07 Philadelphia, PA First Unitarian Church
12/08 Toronto, ONT The Great Hall
    12/10 Chicago, IL Lincoln Hall
12/12 Portland, OR Doug Fir Lounge
    12/13 Seattle, WA Triple Door
12/14 San Francisco, CA Swedish American Hall
12/15 Los Angeles, CA The Troubadour
12/16 Los Angeles, CA The Troubadour

Penning the soundtrack to last year's Caroline Aherne film The Fattest Man in Britain sparked a period of unprecedented creativity for Gough, resulting in a wealth of great new songs. Gough decided the best way to capture this surge, and give the songs the exposure they deserved, was to release a trilogy of albums. That's quite an ambitious endeavor but I think BDD can pull it off. The trilogy is called It's What I'm Thinking and Part 1 – Photographing Snowflakes will be in stores next week.
