The first-ever Moonrise Festival in Baltimore, Maryland, slated for the weekend of June 8, has been grounded! The event, set to feature amazing talent like Snoop Dogg, Avicii, Pretty Lights, Paul van Dyk and more, was axed since organizers did not secure the proper permits needed to stage and pull off the event.

Oops! And what a big oopsie that was.

Steez Promo, the company producing the event, posted a statement, which reads as follows: "It is with a heavy heart that we regret to announce the cancellation of this year's Moonrise Festival. Although we have put everything we had into this event trying to make it happen, we have hit a roadblock that we just cannot overcome as the final permit needed will not be approved."

The statement further read: "We are devastated by what has happened but… we cannot move forward without this final permit. We want to both thank and apologize to the fans, the artists, all members of the media, and everyone else who have supported this event. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We have battled to keep this event alive and we are absolutely crushed by this turn of events."

    Tickets will be refunded.

    What a bummer.

There are a lot of moving parts required to pull off a festival, that's for sure! Even though we ask you to play festival organizer and tell us your dream lineup and location, the REAL thing is a lot of work and planning, from insurance to securing and paying talent!

What festivals are on your calendar this season?
