Barry Sonnenfeld to Save the World

Director Barry Sonnenfeld, who helmed Men in Black, Enchanted, and also serves as an executive producer and occasional director on TV's Pushing Daisies, among other things, will direct and produce the action-comedy adaptation of The How-To Guide for Saving the World.

The film (and book) focus on an manual that details how to save the world that is left behind by a secret group whose task it is to protect it from alien invasions. When the protective sect is somehow eviscerated, an anti-action hero and a female who dislikes him find the book and are forced to save the world from impending doom. Sonnenfeld will direct the film for MGM/United Artists.
