Bauhaus Singer Peter Murphy Arrested for Hit-and-Run

Whoa! Bad news for Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy, who apparently does not belong behind the wheel of a car. The singer, 55, was arrested Saturday (March 16) after he allegedly rear-ended a Mercedes in Glendale, injured the driver and then fled to Los Angeles. Several Good Samaritans intervened, and an eyewitness blocked him and prevented him from escaping until a cop arrived.
One eyewitness took a photo of Murphy's damaged car and followed Murphy from the crash to Los Angeles because he feared Murphy would kill someone with how he was driving his Subaru Forester. Yikes!
The Mercedes driver, the one who was hit, also wrote down Murphy's license plate before she was wheeled away on a gurney. That's sorta like thinking on her feet, so to speak! We're glad she had the wherewithal to do so.
Also, the driver of a pickup truck reportedly followed Murphy to Los Angeles, where he pulled in front of him, blocked his Subaru and called Glendale police to tell them he was detaining Murphy. What a concerned citizen! Screw bystander apathy.
When cops arrived, they found Murphy to be disoriented and confused.
He denied that he had been drinking, but said that he had taken his regular Rx pills, which are prescribed for depression.
What a mess!
What should the punishment be for an act like this?
