Beastie Boys Settle With Toy Company

The Beastie Boys have finally reached a settlement with GoldieBlox, a toy company which used the trio's '80s hit "Girls" in a commercial without permission.
The surviving members Adam Horovitz and Michael Diamond --member Adam Yauch passed away back in 2012-- sued GoldieBlox last year, accusing the company of copyright infringement for featuring a version of their song in a viral advertising video without asking or paying for that usage.
Since the children in the ad were singing different lyrics, the GoldiBlox team claimed it was "fair use" since it was a parody.
Despite months of legal headaches, a settlement has been reached between the parties. The terms were not disclosed. End of story.
