It's still a year until the iconic Beatles film "Yellow Submarine" turns 50, but plans for the celebration have already begun. The Apple Corporation is authorizing a comic book adaptation of the classic film with Titan Comics.
Titan publishing director Chris Teather said of the forthcoming comic, "We're thrilled to be publishing The Beatles: Yellow Submarine for the 50th Anniversary of this fantastic movie. We can't wait for Beatles fans to experience this official adaptation."
The Beatles: Yellow Submarine was written and illustrated by incoming MAD Magazine editor Bill Morrison. The comic book is slated to come out in 2018.
Last year, Lego released a Yellow Submarine box set, which included Minifigures of all four Beatles and Jeremy Hillary Boob. On Christmas eve 2015, The Beatles music became available on streaming services for the first time. The band from Liverpool's music is available on Spotify, Amazon Prime, Apple Music and six other services.
Yesterday it was announced Ringo Starr would be releasing a new album, Give More Love, which will feature a collaboration with Paul McCartney. The two last worked together on Starr's 2010 record Y Not. Macca is also currently working on his first solo record in four years.
