A Beatles demo tape, which failed to land them a record deal at Decca in 1962, is going under the hammer at auction.

Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and drummer Pete Best recorded the demo on New Year's Day under the name The Silver Beatles, looking to earn a record deal, but Decca executive Dick Rowe infamously turned them down. Big mistake. BIG! We bet he'd been kicking himself ever since.

The 10-song tape is going on the block and is expected to fetch over $30,000. The tracks can never be released commercially by the winning bidder, however, as the band owns the copyright. So don't think you're getting rich by releasing the music if you win this tape.

What is your favorite song by The Beatles?
