Bebe Neuwirth, Kelsey Grammer Find Fame

The remake of the 1980's musically-themed drama Fame has added several key cast members to the mix.

Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally, and Bebe Neuwirth have all been tapped to play instructors and supervisors at a performing arts high school in Manhattan. The film reunites Grammer and Neuwirth, who starred together in the popular '90s sitcom Frasier. Grammer will play an orchestra maestro, while Neuwirth will play a dance instructor. Allen will portray the school's principal, with Dutton starring as an acting teacher. Mullally's role will be that of a voice instructor. These recent cast additions all have backgrounds in the performing arts, which will further add to the film's authenticity.

The film, which already has a September 25 release date, began production last week. Several unknowns have been cast as the students in the film, with Kevin Tancharoen directing.
