Beer and Hell Await

The best-selling "dude lit" tome, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, is being adapted for the big screen by its author, Tucker Max. The humorous, gonzo book, which was also dubbed "fratire" by the The New York Times, due to its frat boy style, spent a whopping three years on the New York Times Bestseller List. The book details the author's excessive, alcohol-drenched, often idiotic misadventures, his lady-killing capers and other general acts of debauchery. Bob Gosse will direct.
Max, who has had several development TV deals fall through in the past few years, rose to fame in 2002, when he launched his own website, www.TuckerMax.com. He posted short stories, many of which were included in the book, that generated hundreds of thousands of unique page views, thus helping him secure an advance to write I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.
Too bad they don't and won't serve beer at the multiplex when this film hits theatres. Wait a minute. Did we just give the film's marketing directors an ingenious way to promote and market this film? Whatever the case, just invite us to the film's premiere and after party.
